DECK ONE DESIGN was originally created as a CAD (Computer Aided Design) and Draughting company in 2001. We built www.deck-one.co.uk to bring us work however, we soon realised there was more potential in Internet sites than CAD work! Suddenly the whole concept of search engine results gripped us and we realised the search engines themselves were starting to develop in to a whole new market place. A web site allows a large coverage and does not require hard sell. In fact, it is quite the opposite. A web site can supply information 24-hours a day, every day of the year and it is searched for by people who are looking proactively, for your information. In the early days it was easy to just drop some keywords in the right places on a web page and it would rank in the top 10 results, but over time, this has become more difficult. The search engines and in particular, Google, have evolved and developed ever more sophisticated algorithms to enhance their organic results that are displayed to a browser. Nowadays, Google is regarded as THE search engine and it reliably delivers 80% of Internet traffic. There are a number of factors which allow one web site to rank above another and some of these are keyword placement, keyword density, link building strategies, valid links and code validation.
