The Other Achievements section should be thought of as a red herring.
This section can be used to make yourself stand out from a crowd. Suppose there are 50 other candidates who all have suitable experience and qualifications for an advertised position. How will somebody remember you or decide that your CV should be short listed? Some of the CVs we have written have left us feeling very enthusiastic about our clients. If you were reading over 200 CVs to fill one post, who would you want to interview? Would you choose 199 candidates who liked to watch television or would you interview the guy who had climbed one of the world's highest mountains? What about the lady who rescued a drowning child from a swollen river? What does a statement like this on a CV say about somebody? Not everybody has a story like these but most people will have one moment in their life that changed them or made them who they are. Something special that gives them an identity. Don't be afraid to use this on a curriculum vitae, it can have an awesome effect on an interview. |
