Tombstone CV Example

The Profile section of a CV is very important. It needs to sell you as a person and what skills you have rather than just your experience for the job.

Profile / Career Objective

Use a three to four line paragraph selling your personality or what you hope to achieve. Emphasise what you have to offer rather than what you expect.

Typically this section should allow an interviewer to know what to expect when you walk through the door. Some things that can be mentioned are:

  • Motivation levels
  • Team working ability
  • Dependability
  • Leadership skills
  • Attention to detail that you show in your work
  • Responsibility
  • Initiative
  • Confidence and determination
  • Focus
  • Adaptability
  • Enthusiasm

There is no need to show all of these. Just focus on your strongest selling points. If you need help with this section ask your friends. Or ask people who you work with what they like best about you.
